Reading Level: Early Elementary

A beautiful gospel retelling of when Jesus healed the official’s deceased daughter and gave this little girl back to her doting parents. If you like the Chosen tv series and have little ones, you’ve got to try to get your hands on this lovely old book by one of the world’s most famous children’s storytellers. I am amazed that this book has been forgotten or lost by the Christian community of parents and publishers.

The story captures how the father tries to find Jesus sooner and how he hopes and desperately wants to do his best for his wife and daughter. I have a whole new deeper relationship with this gospel story after reading this short book. I don’t see any conflicts with the biblical narrative, but it does embellish beyond the text.

I have ordered a copy of this sweet story for my bookshelf and I wish you all the best finding a copy for yourself. If you have connections in the publisher business, please urge them to reissue this one and offer it to the mainstream audience; it is a treasure for the little ones.
