Rating: My Bookshelf

This is a sweet little mystery at about the same reading level as the magic tree House series or The boxcar children. I really like the kids were eager to help the teacher find her missing diamond. I imagine kids will relate to the other side plot of the story which is for the narrator to figure out what he will do for the class talent show.

The only potential minor hesitation is that the kid detective is a bit sneaky so that he can complete his investigation in places that kids are typically not allowed, such as the teachers lounge or his teacher’s desk. But the motive is great.

I’ll be looking for more of the Horrible Harry series to check out and potentially add to my bookshelf–especially because so far I don’t know why on earth he would be called horrible! In this book, he was helpful, not horrible!!!
