Rating: Not for me

I’m trying to be open-minded since “mythology” is one of the categories to complete in my 2nd grader’s “Tower of Books” challenge at school. I thought perhaps I could get behind some silly Sasquatch stories. But this one went past Sasquatch to ghosts, mysterious theft, and in my opinion the worst of all: the third eye. The third eye is I believe a Hindu concept and I’m just not excited about my young reader getting caught up in the concept. The Sasquatches and their human friend all put clay horns on their heads to symbolize a 6th sense-type third eye awareness of things around them.

If none of that bothers you, then maybe the fact that the young Sasquatches completely abandon wisdom and violate trust as they adventure to a dangerous place their family recently narrowly escaped from. Why? Because the human birthday boy ordered it like a naughty, spoiled brat. Although the human’s intentions were good, I just didn’t appreciate his lack of wisdom exercising birthday authority putting everyone in danger.
