Rating: My Bookshelf

Waylon is an innovative, science-loving boy who longs for a dog. Parents may have only two hesitations about this sweet story of collaboration, perseverance, innovation, and friendship:

  • Creation conservatives might not like brief mention of Darwin in a book of great scientists
  • He and his friend regularly bust a dog out of its kennel because it is on death row.

I like this one much more than Book 1 in the series, and you don’t need to read Book 1 to catch on to this one, although some familiarity with the Clementine series would make the characters’ back-stories shine!!
