Rating: My bookshelf

Reading level: Early Elementary

I don’t like the spooky direction of later books in the original Boxcar series, so I was excited to try some from this “special” series. It didn’t disappoint! The whole feel of it reminded me of yellow house mystery or bicycle mystery; no spook factor and lots of problem solving from the beloved Aldens.

Possible Concerns:

  • Romance. There is a small bit of romance between two side characters. Nothing to be concerned about—still rated G—and yet Benny even comments, “I don’t like mushy stuff.”

I’m happy to add this one to my bookshelf.
