Rating: My bookshelf
Informative, interesting, and accessible. There is mention of a son overthrowing and imprisoning his father to take over the throne of an empire, and of course the tragic love story loss of a wife.
The information is fair and doesn’t seem to have a political or religious agenda. There is mention of the toombs that lie within, but no mystic references. There is mention of a mosque, but no reference to worship. I especially liked references to symmetry, restoration, and physics (the tall towers have outward lean so as to not knock the main building if they fall.

All in all, this is a great informational book that piques the travel bug. I have no concerns.
The image below shows that there aren’t too many words on a page. My 2nd grader had no problem finishing this one, and it kept him interested.

I also liked the Great Wall of China book in the same series!
