I was surprised to initially generally be ok with this Pokémon story; then I came across this chick:

Little Miss Villain

Why does she have to show her midriff and why does her mini skirt have to be so short that I can tell she isn’t wearing boxer briefs? Why? Why? Why?!!!! Uggggghhhhh…

If you can get over “little miss villain” from above, here are a few other potential issues to consider:

  • Name calling (“losers!”, “twerp”, “dimwit,” etc.)
  • Quick to fight via Pokémon; hotheadedness
  • The villains are unkind & treacherous, sabotaging the heroes and others. At one point, one villain actually smacks the other on the head.
  • One kid doesn’t hide his attraction to a beautiful blonde gal (not the villain pictured above).
  • Creation conservatives also may not like that there is talk of the Pokémons evolving.

Unfortunately, my 7-year-old bookworm son got ahold of this one before I was able to censor it, and he loved it. What to do? If only miss villain put on some proper clothes, I’d probably let the rest slide. Is this just the world we live in? Or is this needing to be censored?
