Rating: Not for me
Reading level: Middle School
I much preferred some of the previous Friday Barnes Mysteries: Girl Detective, Under Suspicion, Big Trouble, and No Rules.
Here are my hesitations about recommending this one:
- Pornography. A kid gets stuck in a closet looking at art books with pictures of naked women.A pornographic mural of one of the teachers is painted on a large wall as a commissioned mural. (Part of a crazy plot from a nutty guest art teacher).
- Romance. The odd romance with Ian continues with Friday noticing his physique or sex appeal.
I can’t really recommend this one. I like the rest of the series so much that it’s hard to not keep reading. Fortunately, the next one in the series, Danger Ahead, has no major concerns, and you don’t need this one to understand it. So I’d skip this one if your kid isn’t ready to read about naked-lady art. Actually, just skip it either way.
