Rating: My bookshelf

A clever and heart-warming early-ish reader type style book with lovely themes.

Two young boys follow in their widower dad’s footsteps trying to be tough and gruff. They accidentally end up being kind and helpful, to their disappointment. When their father finds out about their impact, he admits it has been hard to be gentle and kind since their mother died. He vows to be kind like his kids, and the family turns over a new leaf together.

A clever story with helpful messages about grief, role-models, and kindness. It’s no wonder this one is an award winner!
