Rating: Needs Parent Supervision

This one has the usual mystery, wizardry, war, and sorcery of most King Arthur tales. Some low points include: a jealous witch enchants Arthur and attacks him.  Arthur also comes to an end by way of a terrible blood war.

As far as legends of King Arthur go, this one is pretty well-done for kids. Less-than-honorable romance is glossed over and represented in age-appropriate ways. For example, where legend paints Mordred as Arthur’s bastard child, in this book Mordred is simply referred to as one whom “some said was the king’s own son.”

If you’re looking for something that captures the weirdness, mystery, and magic of King Arthur in a short, kid-friendly retelling, this is the best I have seen.
