Jack Frost, the mischief-maker goblin strikes again, this time stealing Rita the Frog Princess Fairy’s baking bowl, which apparently affects a story-teller’s ability to tell the frog princess story (I know; it makes no sense).  BFF main-characters Kirsty and Rachel must beat the sneaky goblin to save the story.

If you’re ok with fairies, goblins, magic, and somewhat of a stretch for a nonsensically plot, then you, like my 5-year-old daughter might enjoy this one.

I have no major concerns. In fact, I appreciate the modest outfits and the representation of women of color, which makes this one of my favorites in this line of books.

If you’re looking for other books in this series, I also like Daisy the Duckling Fairy. I thought Giselle the Christmas Ballet Fairy was so-so, and I actually didn’t like Ruby the Red Fairy or Katie the Kitten Fairy. In general, with all of this series and its spin-offs, a good quick look at the modesty (or lack thereof) displayed in the illustrations would go a long way.
