Daisy Meadows has a recipe and she is not afraid to use it to cook up yet another story of sneaky goblins led by Jack Frost the mischief-maker stealing something, which happens to have magical powers over something outside of fairy land. BFF main-characters Kirsty and Rachel must outsmart the sneaky goblins to save the farm.
If you’re ok with fairies, goblins, magic, and somewhat of a stretch for a plot (why should baby animals stolen in fairy land affect the behavior of baby animals in our world?) then you, like my 5-year-old daughter might enjoy this one.
Although I don’t like all the Rainbow Magic books, in this one the fairies have modest clothes and there is no lying to parents.
If you’re looking for other books in this series, I also like Rita the Frog Princess Fairy. I thought Giselle the Christmas Ballet Fairy was so-so, and I actually didn’t like Ruby the Red Fairy or Katie the Kitten Fairy. In general, with all of this series and its spin-offs, a good quick look at the modesty (or lack thereof) displayed in the illustrations would go a long way.
