Rating: My bookshelf

A shipwrecked robot persists, adapts, survives, befriends, and wins over readers’ hearts.

No major concerns although a couple considerations:

  • There is an environmentalist theme that comes in later in the book, primarily with mention of sea levels rising. Perfectly reasonable and thus far, but I expect it to come up in future books as a strong agenda and I wonder if that’s enough to deter political conservatives.
  • (SPOILER ALERT) Thought provoking as robots are both hero and villain. Futuristic concepts about the role of robots and the future of earth come into play at the end.
  • There is mention of death, and guns come into play a couple times.
  • This is book 1 in a series, and you may wish to also see my upcoming reviews of Book 2 and Book 3, both of which I rated as Needs Parent Supervision.
