Rating: My Bookshelf

This is perfect for kids who like adventures and enjoy the outdoors!

A family with great relationships goes camping to the Smoky Mountains. They are separated and the kids need to work together to survive.

Things I liked:

  • The kids have a healthy relationship with their parents. This is refreshing, as models of good parent-kid relationships are hard to find these days.
  • The siblings get along. It’s so sweet to finally have kids appreciate eachother in fiction.
  • Lessons about how it is best to be honest about our mistakes.

Hesitations:

  • None, except you need to read Book 1 first to get the most out of it.

My only other comment is there are a few instances when I wish the author gave a bit more details about the setting or about the places they visit. Sometimes I am struggling to put a picture in my mind of what she’s talking about. But this isn’t a big concern; I’d still add these to my bookshelf in a heartbeat.
