Rating: My bookshelf

Reading Level: Early Elementary

Three diverse students find themselves swept into a fantasy world where they are transformed into various beasts and and must form an unlikely team.

Potential concerns:

  • A bit of potty humor (mention of mouse farts)
  • Prophecy, ancient (dead) dragons sort of giving instructions through words coming from nowhere in a cave
  • Following “gut feelings” about what to do or where to go.

I’d basically call the fantasy nature a Jr. Lord of the Rings, but unfortunately without strong spiritual undertones.

I liked the main agenda: kids maturing/growing/learning to become a team when they never talked to each other before.
