I’m starting to understand why these comics are so popular. They poke fun of our culture! Here is an example.

The egotistical unicorn is over-the-top, but it is admittedly clever and sometimes makes me chuckle. Here is an example, where the unicorn doesn’t want to fit in so ends up making itself wacky colors:

Nevertheless there are concerns:
- The idea that you can be anything. I’m not talking about occupation. It’s the idea that you can change into an animal or any creature you want to be (including a unicorn).
- Bullying
- Name Calling
- Unicorns, Goblins
- Halloween, costumes, being scared
- Ducking out of a math test
- Cursing people
- Casting spells
- Obsession with being fashionable
- Accidental extortion
- Booger humor
- The mean girl has a gigantic ego
Themes are:
- Humans can struggle with caring about opinions if others, even if the others are not great people
- Friendship
- Some kids can be bullies and/or super self-absorbed, and can put others down to build themselves up
Overall I wouldn’t mind checking out other books in this series, but in this one the bad outweighs the good.
