Rating: My bookshelf
Level: Mid-late Elementary
Two twins with superpowers bring 2 more friends to a summer camp at the foot of a mysterious volcano that may have clues as to why their missing mother disappeared.
Possible Concerns:
- Dishonesty. Hiding the truth from parents (the real reason they want to go to camp is to look for mom), occasional superpower lies to civilians to cover up their powers.
- Not owning up to mistakes. After accidentally ruining a satellite, a bit just puts it back in space for someone else to wonder what happened. This kind of cover-up is common in superhero books because the kids are supposed to conceal their powers.
- A bit of romance; one girl crushes on her friend.
It isn’t perfect, but themes of teamwork and friendship outweigh the bad.
