I can see why people like Junie B. Jones. She has a lot of spunk. That said, she is really naughty, and she models patterns of thinking that I don’t want my kids to follow.
- “I hate that Jim.”
- “I guess that makes him my boyfriend.” Kindergarteners don’t need that kind of thing put in their brains.
- Allowing friends to bribe her with gifts, even via the shoes off their feet
- Shouting at grownups
- Saying she could beat that boy up
Her way of looking at things is really entertaining and she’s full of mischief, but I don’t want my kindergartener thinking like her, so I’ll save this for when she’s old enough to laugh at it without copying it.
