Rating: Not for me
Reading Level: Late Elementary
This was not too exciting; if you’re looking for a fun princess story, I much preferred The Runaway Princess.
Possible Concerns:
- Witches, witchcraft normalized; (spoiler alert!) the main character discovers she is a witch.
- Romance; quite a bit of kissing, initially pecks but later long and lingering
As with many of E.D. Baker’s books, I like that the princess is not a diva or a bridezilla. She is clutzy, authentic, and kind. She also doesn’t just get married to a prince at the end, but takes it slow, planning to get to know him more.
