An orphan girl learns to trust her new friends.

Possible Concerns:

  • Magic, fantasy, sorcery
  • Thievery. Initially the main character is an orphan thief.
  • Social struggles. The main character has trouble believing her new community is loving and accepting.

I think the sorcery just feels heavier and darker than Book 1. A jewel binds an imprisoned dragon to her dead human partner. The jewel makes the dragon evil. (See also my review of Book 1.)
