Talking animals thwart a witch who wants to steal their food.

Possible Concerns:

  • Magic: the kingdom where animals live and talk is entered through a magic door.
  • An evil witch in high heels
  • The witch has minions called boggits. They have poor dental health and wear raggedy clothes.
  • Parents may wish to know that one girl lives with just her dad. No explanation in this book is given.

I wish the evil creatures weren’t dressed in raggedy clothes with poor teeth; seems like it could create a stereotype that poor folks are evil. Maybe I’ll write a book series where the evil minions have all had plastic surgery and dress in designer clothes.

Overall, I like that the girls try to help the innocent creatures against a bully.
