Reading Level: Early Elementary

An extroverted cat and a hesitant tiger throw a party. The tiger struggles to be excited about the party and to do her job, which is to invite neighbors without scaring them away.

Overall the premise is cute but a couple possible concerns:

  • Use of the term “Party Pooper” several times
  • Use of the term “Geez” when tiger is frustrated (see image below).
  • Brief speculation that the tiger has been killed and what remains is a ghost (see image below).

Overall, I just didn’t think the good outweighed the bad on this one (I’m sick of kids’ books playing into ghosts), but I won’t judge parents who go for it, as it’s not the worst out there.
