Reading Level: Mid-late Elementary

Slapstick silly humor fills this action-packed underwater graphic novel.

Possible Concerns:

  • A lot of violence with punching, wrestling, and shooting lasers
  • Slimy villains (literally, like eels, as well as metaphorically) and a trip to the casino to sniff them out.
  • A scene where two sea creatures pretty much wrestled like WWF competitors.

Overall, it wasn’t my favorite read because there were too many fight scenes and things getting blown up, but if your kid likes superhero stories and action then this might be a great choice. I especially liked how sea creature characters left no room for women dressed inappropriately, as is common in superhero comics.
