This one has a few more concerns that with the previous books, but still not bad.
Possible Concerns:
- Typical superhero story violence. Punching, zapping, etc.
- Typical superhero sci-fi. The villain is a dart-vader-looking jackrabbit who lives on Jupiter.
- Name calling. “Dum dum.”
- Romance. The villain robots fall for a little girl mouse dressed as a rabbit. Their eyes turn into hearts and they seel to please her.
- Distaste for relatives.
Things I liked:
- Ricky has a good relationship with his parents.
- Ricky shows courage.
- This easy read is a hybrid between chapter book and graphic novel. It seems to be a great way to help reluctant readers keep reading.
Overall, this action-packed book is easy to read. I’m not a huge fan of the romance aspect, as I think our culture idolizes romance.
