Reading Level: Early Elementary

Jess and Lilly try to break the curse that has been placed on their little lamb friend. The curse makes her messy.

Concerns:

  • Curses, and chanting to break a curse.
  • A witch who wants to take over the forest
  • The villains steal

Something I liked:

  • The curse is broken with objects the lamb likes. It reminds me of how we find our truest selves when we break through against the chains of sin.

Maybe someone could creative could think of stronger spiritual parallels to redeem this story, but to me the curses and chanting are too steeped in the occult for this young age.
