Rating: My bookshelf
Reading Level: Picture/Board Books
A solid winner. Teaches girls about bravery and the story of Abigail.
Possible Concerns:
- Angel portrayed as a pixie. I’m not sure about theology of angels, but the angel in this book is portrayed like a pixie fairy.
Things I liked
- Practical application to the current world. Rooney applies the lessons from the Bible story to a situation in her current life. It is beautifully done.
- Bible story. The story includes a retelling of the story of Abigail.
- Person of Color as a model. Abigail, the hero of the story, is pictured as a woman of African descent. (See cover image.)
