Rating: Needs Parent Supervision (Santa)

Reading Level: Board/Picture Books

A clean, sweet story about how Santa recruits a group of animals to help him deliver a lost Christmas gift.

Possible Concerns:

  • Santa. The animals project omniscience and other powers onto Santa, which in the end are sort of confirmed.
  • Grouchiness. One of the characters is skeptical and grouchy; the animals bear with him and he comes around.

Things I liked:

  • Beautiful writing. The writing captures the magic of the holiday season.
  • Love/Service. The animals work hard to help a gift find it’s home. They experience joy serving another.

Overall I expect most families would like this as long as they are ok with Santa, flying sleighs, and Santa knowing about our behavior.

I prefer Heartwood Hotel by Kallie George.
