A lonely cat perseveres in the hard, lonely work at a lighthouse. By the end she has somewhat of a family of companions to share the work and to keep her company.
Possible Concerns:
- Praying to someone other than God? p. 57 “if anyone out in the gray waters sent out a prayer of thanks, they did not know it.”
- Living together. Male and female companions live together *not* in the covenant of marriage. (To be fair, it is a cat and a dog from two different species!). It starts when the dog is rescued and injured, but grows into companionship and teamwork working the lighthouse. They don’t consider marriage, but they’re different species and very different ages so is that ok? I don’t know.
I’m guessing most families would have no concerns, I’m just being overly cautious here.
