Rating: Needs Parent Supervision
Reading Level: Early Elementary
A little bit of superficial fashion focus, but generally a fine choice for a young reader
Possible Concerns:
- Focus on clothes and style. Properly checked, clothes and style can be a fun, wholesome art. I think this book does great at generally keeping it healthy. A little bit of superficiality creeps in. (See last concern in this list).
- Confidence in the wrong place. She is nervous, and I wish she had turned to God for her confidence. See image below.

Things I liked:
- Good male fashion model. I liked how the boy’s outfit was a cape. See image below.

- Emphasis on letting your uniqueness shine. Itty ends up choosing an outfit she likes instead of conforming to conventions about what it means to be royalty. This reminded me of how our identity as princes and princesses in the kingdom of God doesn’t change depending on what we wear. See image below.
