Welcome to JesusLovesBookworms.com! Do you have a kid (or maybe the kid inside you) who just can’t seem to read enough? I’m here to help!
This site was launched in 2025 to help parents live into their calling as stewards of their child-readers. Based on the core belief that what a kids reads shapes what they think, we seek to provide honest, thorough, reviews of books from a Christian perspective that can help parents quickly discern and shepherd their bookworms.
Currently we offer reviews of over 500 books and point to reviews from other Christian websites for 500 more books, totaling in about 1000 books in our database, overall.
What we do
We provide simple, straightforward reviews that can help parents quickly discern whether books are a good fit for their children. We also offer discussion topics that should be addressed when a kid is reading a particular book. You may be surprised what books warrant discussion!
Here you can check out descriptions of the Ratings.
While we do review the occasional board or picture book, the emphasis is on chapter books.
Who we serve
Our goal to serve any family that is seeking to follow Jesus. This means we serve both sides of the political aisle, denominations that are conservative and progressive alike, and we serve people from both sides of hot debates. Different families have different tolerances for violence, potty humor, the age of the earth, gender roles, magic, etc. We try to serve them all by highlighting potential issues; then they can decide for themselves.
What we believe
Our beliefs tend to align with those of The Gospel Coalition. However, we believe that people from many denominations will be in heaven, and that we have brothers and sisters in Christ who don’t necessarily look and think the same way that we do.
Our Heart:
We hope to provide a website that is helpful for parents trying to satisfy their book-hungry kids’ thirst for more books that are a good fit for their family’s faith and values. We use empathy try to recognize and alert parents to possible issues, regardless of whether those are our particular concerns or not.

How do you get started? If you have a book in mind, you can use the SEARCH feature on the home page. If you are just browsing for books to read you might try searching based on age level or my rating (in the top and side-bar menus). Please note that many books that Need Parent Supervision might still be a great fit for your family; you just may want to have a conversation or two with your kid based on the review.
Enjoy!
