Reading Level: Early Elementary

Not a big fan of this one.

Possible Concerns:

  • Name calling. Teachers & students are called really dumb.
  • Negative views on school. The first chapter is filled with a kid & his teacher discussing how they both don’t like school
  • Body humor. Unnecessary discussion of football players “knocking people on their butts.” and then a bunch of grammar about butt or butts.
  • Teacher incompetence. The teacher pretends to not know anything.

I get it; they’re trying to relate to the kid who doesn’t like school and to make the teacher interesting & funny. But in general I think there is more bad than good in this one.
