Reading Level: Late Elementary

A well-read orphan girl uncovers mysteries, enchantments, and a cold welcome at her new home.

Possible Concerns:

• Spells/sorcery
• A church service that is rather boring,
• Disobeying orders. The main character is a curious girl who disobeys restrictive instructions,
• Magical fair folk who steal children.

Not the best writing (a few loose ends in the plot that don’t tie together well), but not the worst either.

*I listened to the audiobook, which means I may have missed something else that I would have caught if reading text.
