Reading Level: Middle School, High School.
A girl named Worry steps up to try to rescue her sister, Hope, from dragons who captured her and took her to a moon. Worry is tutored by magical ghosts of Kepler, Aristotle, and Einstein to try to overcome gravity to reach the moon.
Possible Concerns:
- Ghosts. The ghosts of Kepler, Galileo, Einstein and other physicists are tutors.
- Peril. Hope is captured by a dragon.
Things I liked:
- No discernible political agenda. The author seems to really just want to help people understand Physics.
- Identity. Worry’s identity transforms. She even (spoiler alert!) renames herself to have a less oppressive name as an outer expression of an inner change.
- Physics. I learned some really cool stuff about the tides and gravity.
See also my reviews of other books in the Fairy Tale Physics series. You don’t necessarily need to read them in order.
