Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, The Galactic Guide, Written by Matt Jones

Reading Level: Early Elementary, Mid-Elementary

My almost five-year-old picked this one out at the library. He didn’t stay interested enough to finish it.

Possible Concerns:

• Cults & dangerous definition of cultists. There are creatures called Alazmmec Cultists, devoted followers of the deceased Darth Vader. I think my biggest issue is at the back they define cultist in the glossary: “cultist: a person who believes in an unusual religion.” I’m not sure that definition properly captures the dangers of cults.
• Conservatives on marriage may wish to know that a female commander in the heroes’ army has a wife.

I understand this is posited as a Galactic Guide, but I prefer stories with more narrative.
