More of that which appears in other books in the series, as well as some pagan goddess worship.

  • Peril. Sword fights, knife fights, assassins.
  • Religious cult. An evil cult can be bribed to assassinate individuals. They worship a goddess who is horrible.
  • Disrespect to elders. The heroine often says, “Shut up, Old Man!”. To be fair, he teases her and sort of asks for it.
  • Norse-ish gods and other pagan gods. “Loki’s beard,” etc.
  • Bias against Middle Eastern type characters. It’s like indiana jines and Narnia again. The villains wear turbans, and dress in middle eastern clothes.
  • Meditative ahhhhm prayer by the cult.
  • Idol worship. The heroes bow down to a goddess they don’t believe in Jesus to not rock the boat.

Definitely first read The Brotherband Book 1 (The Outsiders), The Brotherband Book 2 (The Invaders), Book 3 (The Hunters), and Book 4, The Slaves of Soccoro.

Consider also reading The Ranger’s Apprentice first. Here are links to my reviews of Book 1, Book 2, Book 3, Book 4, Book 5, Book 6, Book 7, Book 8, Book 9, Book 10, and Book 11 in the Ranger’s Apprentice series. Pay attention to concerns in Book 3 and Book 8.
