Rating: My bookshelf
Reading Level: Mid-Elementary, Late Elementary
We did this as a read-aloud. I enjoyed this one, but it wasn’t my favorite; I thought the plot was a bit of a stretch. My kids, however, LOVED it. My 9-year-old son says he will read it again now that we are finished with it as a family. So I guess it was a hit!
Possible Concerns:
- Potty/Body Humor. Vomit, toilet plungers, and other potty/body humor played a part in the comedic relief throughout.
I liked how a character admits he made a mistake and tries to help make it right. I also like how the tree frog is empathetic and forgiving. Bonus that there are animal facts throughout!
