A fantasy with strong biblical parallels, cleverly ranging through Israel’s kings, prophets, and exile. The main character wrestles with the people’s resistance to listening to prophecy and staying loyal to their king.

Possible Concerns:

  • Peril. Fire, swordfighting, slavery, murder. To mimic Pharoah’s son dying, the son of an oppressive Lord is killed. Also the love interest of the main character gets fatally wounded.
  • Romance. There is a confession of love. Tender kisses I think but in a sweet and not spicy way at all.
  • An evil woman giving suggestive looks. An evil woman looks at the main character in a way that makes him feel uncomfortable. This character leads “Israel” astray, and she is ment to be sort of an adulteress in faith.

The author’s agenda appears to be to illustrate loyalty to God even when nobody else remains faithful.
