A fantasy with strong biblical parallels, this time telling an allegory to represent the story of the apostle Paul (Part 1). The main character is devoted to God’s law, and I appreciate how there is uncertainty as he navigates his understanding of the Christ figure.
Possible Concerns:
- Peril. Swordfighting, slavery, murder. The Christ figure is hung from a tree for treason.
- Bigotry. The ruling class is elitist and of noble birth. The main character must overcome bigotry.
- Dark knights. Satanic figures take a desperate woman to be their slave, and the main character chooses not to fight for her. The same figures end up attacking him later.
